Terms of service
Version: October 20, 2026 (2026-10-20). These terms apply when you expressly accept them during account creation, or when you publish homebrew. We do not treat existing accounts as having accepted a new version merely because this page changed.
Who provides Sidekick
William, an individual in Texas, United States, operates DC20 Sidekick as a free, unofficial companion tool. Contact: adainels_10@yahoo.com. Sidekick is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Dungeon Coach. DC20 and third-party materials remain subject to their respective owners' rights and applicable licenses.
Accounts and eligibility
Accounts are for people aged 13 or older. If you are under the age of legal adulthood where you live, involve a parent or guardian in reviewing these terms and use the service only with the permission required by local law. An age-group answer is not verified parental consent. Do not create an account for a child under 13. Use an email you control, protect your password, and report suspected account misuse.
Free service and availability
There are currently no subscriptions, purchases, fees or automatic charges, so there are no payments to refund. Any future paid offering will have its own clear pricing and terms before you choose it. The app is a developing tool; features can change, contain errors or become unavailable. Keep your own exports and verify game calculations against the rules and your GM's decisions.
Your content and sharing
You keep the rights you have in content you create. You give the operator only the permission needed to store, process, display and transmit that content to provide the features you request. You must have permission to upload or share materials. A campaign shares selected content with its members; a public character link can be used by anyone who obtains it. Other people may keep copies. Do not put sensitive real-world personal information in game notes or upload other people's private information without an appropriate basis.
Published homebrew
Homebrew you keep personal stays yours and is deleted with your account. When you choose Publish on an entry, you confirm you have the rights to it and you grant the operator a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display and let other users copy and use it in Sidekick. You may edit a published entry while your account exists and you may unpublish it, which stops new people from adding it; people and characters who already have it keep it. Published entries stay after you unpublish them or delete your account; after deletion they are credited to “Former member” and no longer linked to you. Moderators may hide or remove published entries that break these terms or that a rights holder reports.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service for unlawful activity, harassment, impersonation, malicious code, unauthorized account access, bypassing access controls, or disruption of the service. Do not redistribute third-party content beyond what its license or the rights holder allows. Report suspected copyright issues or security problems to the contact above with enough detail to locate the issue; do not email passwords, reset links or exploit other users' data.
Account restrictions and leaving
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, protect users, comply with law or maintain the service. Where practical and appropriate, we will explain the reason and let you contact us to challenge a mistake. You may stop using Sidekick at any time and request account deletion through the contact above. We will verify the request and discuss hosted campaigns and shared content before deletion. The privacy notice describes retention and other people's rights.
Privacy and your legal rights
Our privacy notice and storage notice explain data handling. These terms do not require marketing consent, waive mandatory consumer or privacy rights, or prevent you from contacting a regulator or bringing a claim where the law permits. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free calculations or absolute security. Nothing here excludes responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes
We will identify revised terms by version and date, explain material changes, and request renewed agreement where needed. Contact us first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it.
